About Us

We are a non-profit scientific foundation with scientific objectives and international activities, registered in Poland on 21 June 2018.

Our first priority is the dissemination of scientific knowledge in maritime medicine and related fields through our scientific journal, International Maritime Health – the world’s only indexed scientific journal of maritime medicine in English. We seek partners for cooperation and coordinated efforts to build and disseminate scientific knowledge in accordance with our statutes, either in separate agreements or as parties joining the Foundation as ‘Cooperating Institutions’.Our first priority is the dissemination of scientific knowledge of maritime medicine and adjacent fields, through our scientific Journal “International Maritime Health” – the world’s only indexed scientific journal of maritime medicine in the English language. Our activities will include:

  • stimulating and supporting scientific research and studies,
  • disseminating scientific information and facilitatin discussions
  • attracting people to work in maritime medicine and related fields
  • education and training through seminars, workshops, conferences and scientific meeting
  • cooperation with national and international institutions and organizations

Our focus on maritime medicine also includes naval medicine, underwater and hyperbaric medicine, diving medicine, occupational medicine, travel medicine, tropical medicine and maritime psychology.

Our aim is to contribute to the improvement of safety, hygiene at work and the health of seafarers and other persons working at sea all over the world.

Our Goals

“The objective of the International Maritime Health Foundation is to act for the development of science, to increase and disseminate knowledge of maritime medicine and related fields such as: naval medicine, underwater and hyperbaric medicine, diving medicine, occupational medicine, travel medicine, tropical medicine and maritime psychology, as well as to support and initiate scientific and research activities in the above-mentioned fields, as a contribution to improving the safety, hygiene and health of seafarers and other persons who work at sea worldwide”.

 

Based on the above paragraph, the main objectives are:

  • To stimulate and support scientific research and studies in maritime medicine and related fields.
  • To spread information and knowledge and to facilitate discussions worldwide.
  • To attract people to professions related with maritime medicine and related fields.
  • To participate in the organisation of seminars, events, workshops, conferences and scientific meetings worldwide.
  • To cooperate with national and international institutions and organisations with the same or similar interests, including seeking recognition of this cooperation as the valuable scientific forum worldwide.
